When does an AI assistant or agent help your business?

The difference between answering questions and taking actions, and the safeguards to define before launch.

Start with a recurring, specific problem: questions about services, qualifying inquiries or helping a team search approved documents. If the information is simple and stable, a good FAQ may be enough without AI.

An assistant reads defined knowledge sources and suggests an answer. An agent may use a tool to search, create a request or update a record. Any step involving customer data or changing a record needs clear permissions, input checks and request limits; some actions should wait for human approval.

The assistant on the KeenGuild website demonstrates answering service questions and helping visitors clarify their needs. It is an example of conversational assistance, not a promise that every process can be fully automated or that answers are error-free.

Before building, define knowledge sources, allowed answers and actions, human handoff, quality checks and operating cost. We usually start with one testable use case and expand only if it proves useful.
